Systems Sales Engineer (gn) 
 

The System Sales engineer is responsible for selling thermal spray systems by means of achieving order intake and sales of the three types of systems (core, configured and customized systems) within the assigned region and competence. He/She coordinates the sales activities for systems with the local sales organizations in the respective region and also acts as the main interface within OMCH and involved departments (e.g. project management, engineering etc.).
He/She ensures to follow the “Get the Order” process from receiving the initial customer RFQ to the handover to project management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Secure an efficient and effective selling process (on time responses/hit rate/order intake/gross margin)
  • Develop system concepts in line with solutions available from product line management and together with internal specialists according to customer needs and internal guidelines
  • Ensure to use the sales tools appropriately (CRM, Calculation sheets, quotation templates, customer presentations, etc.)
  • Monitor and report the achieved order intake for the respective region and customer base
  • Report and document lost orders (evaluate/assess the reasons for loss; Propose counter measures)
  • Coordinate the joint sales process between regional sales organizations with the local key account managers (KAM’s) and distributors
  • Assist in developing, defining and executing a competitive global strategy in cooperation with Metco regional sales teams and product management to deliver sustainable and profitable growth
  • Build and enhance relationship with customers and local sales representatives
  • Drive process quality and improvements to ensure process efficiency and performance
  • Monitor market trends and competition intel and provide input/feedback to the respective product line manager
  • Willingness to keep up to date and educate yourself on market and technology trends
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company related regulations (DoA, legal, finance, health and safety, environmental)
  • Assess and control / minimize potential risks during the quotation process

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or automation) combined with further education in business management / administration
  • Good combination of technical and commercial savvy
  • Experience in working “within the matrix” of an international and intercultural company
  • Experienced in consultative selling
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills
  • Open and positive mindset with experience in international and cross cultural business environment
  • Long term experience in selling high tech products and turn key solutions
  • Experience in sales representative role; preferably in thermal spray industry
  • Excellent technical understanding of thermal spray market
  • Solid experience in managing customer relations
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills and a results oriented track record
  • Strong market orientation, highly motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team player and effective communicator
  • English and French language (fluent) – other languages are welcome
  • Willingness to travel (mainly to respective region), up to 30%
