Sourcing Manager
We are looking for a Sourcing Manager for our Westbury, NY facility. In this role you will develop and execute commodity / supply chain strategies to improve quality, cost delivery, and financial performance. They will have responsibilities for the following: Managing assigned commodity(s) to deliver improved performance through negotiation strategies and global sourcing; Supplier selection/de-selection, evaluation and supply base rationalization; Material Management solutions, including Lean Implementation and consignment stock. Deployment of company’s supply chain management process and contractual agreements to the supply base.
Your Responsibilities:
- Create, implement and maintain sourcing strategies for a specific commodity portfolio that result in supply chain efficiency
- Conduct spend analysis to identify improvement opportunities, assess current supplier performance and identify/select new global suppliers
- Manage commodity and implementation teams to develop and execute supply chain strategies
- Build cost model to validate commodity strategies and understand cost drivers
- Utilize cost models for managing suppliers (price, volume discounts, commodity cost forecasts and cost drivers, etc.)
- Total cost of ownership
- Manage relationships with suppliers. Analyze current technical and quality requirements, leveraging spends, technologies and implement changes that will develop a commodity supply base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage in cost, quality and delivery. Ensure appropriate performance measurements (quality, Cost and Deliver) of supply base and feedback of results
- Participate in product development teams that develops strong stakeholder relationships
- Develop policies and manage processes for sustainable supply chain compliance (e.g. Dodd Frank Conflict Minerals)
- Manage Team as applicable
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Operations, Supply Management or Engineering)
- 3 to 5 years relevant work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management developing and leading Commodity strategies and demonstrates understanding the commodity and sub commodity marketplace, including sourcing from Low Cost Regions
- Strong sourcing background(strategies, category management, suppliers management, negotiation)
- Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management operational concepts covering production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations and shipping / receiving.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma Concepts related to Supplier Quality
- Ability to handle multiple projects, solve problems and show continuous improvement
- Advanced project management skills
- Domestic as well as International travel is required
- Strong business acumen required
