QA Lab Tech 
 

We are looking for a QA Technician for our Westbury, NY facility. The QA Technician will prepare and test to specification requirements the physical and mechanical properties of various materials. Supports day-to-day operations within the laboratory including equipment maintenance, calibrations, and verification checks in production, receiving, and distribution. Computer knowledge, detailed record keeping and ability to accurately collect and record test data is a requirement of the position.

Your Responsibilities:

• Performs standard testing using various techniques and equipment on raw materials and finished products.
• Reviews PO requirements and certificates of analysis on incoming raw materials.
• Inspects and releases products for distribution.
• Conducts instrument verification checks and calibrations.
• Maintains inspection and test records.
• Maintains retain samples.
• Prepares samples for the QA chemical testing lab using prescribed sampling plans.
• Participates in round robin and proficiency testing programs.
• Troubleshoots laboratory equipment failures and, as necessary, promptly obtains the support of facilities, maintenance, or outside contractors to ensure minimal disruption of lab operations.
• Adheres to quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.

Your Profile:

• Science or technology college degree with at least one year experience in an industrial laboratory, or relevant work experience will be considered.
• Relevant competencies with MS Office and SAP.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001 or other similar standards.
• Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally and communicate clearly and confidently.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $25 to $35 per hour / year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
