Site Controller / FP&A Equipment & Materials 
 

 

The Site Controller / FP&A Equipment & Materials is a finance business partner with a reporting line into Oerlikon’s Finance organization. The position owner is responsible for the financial operations and cost controls of the assigned area of responsibility and assumes a critical role to effectively manage and control the resources. The key task of this position is to provide financial transparency, controlling tools and to monitor financial performance and be hands-on involved in day-to-day financial management of the business.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Business partnering support for assigned area of responsibility
  • Analyze business performance, ensure highest level of transparency of cost drivers and propose corrective actions in COGS and SG&A
  • Prepare and analyze monthly cost center deviation, manufacturing variances, absorption (over/under) variance and other variances
  • Ensure proper product calculation based on standard costing, cost transparency and cost control. Implements, maintains and supervises the implementation, analysis and continuous improvement of product-costing and controlling of the manufacturing site. This includes calculation of product costs as well, best alternative for costing etc.
  • Secures and controls all financial resources, optimizes efficiency of financial processes and financial control
  • Works closely with Equipment/Materials teams to identify cost savings opportunities and drive efficiencies
  • Execute finance tasks such as annual budgets, rolling forecasts, business modelling, monthly closing processes and analysis of variances
  • Analysis deviations and implements/supervises measures to improve, continuous improvements of the processes, this includes the IT-processes (esp. SAP FI/CO/PS)
  • Drive efficient capital allocation through preparing and/or analyzing investment proposals with reference to budgeting, in-budget/in-time execution and post-mortem analyses
  • Implement adequate monitoring mechanisms and initiate corrective actions to ensure NWC target achievements
  • Ensures internal controls are followed
  • Liaise with Finance & Accounting team and Shared Service Center

 

Your Profile

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Controlling
  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A, Controlling or Accounting in an international manufacturing environment
  • Deep functional expertise in SAP ECC within a manufacturing context, particularly in standard costing and plant-level financial operations
  • Strong expertise in SAP FI/CO and SAP Project Systems (PS) is required with experience in product costing and analyzing cost variances.
  • Expertise in SAP ECC period-end closing activities is a must
  • Experienced in project cost controlling (manufacturing environment)
  • Proven experience with business planning, forecasting, KPI/target setting, manufacturing/production cost controlling & analysis, driving continuous cost improvement, CAPEX management (i.e. budgeting & execution on financial aspects) and active working capital management
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, SAP Analysis for Office)
  • Experienced in Group Reporting Tools (CCH Tagetik as advantage but not a must)
  • Project controlling skills: product calculation, claim management, cost transparency
  • Good IFRS accounting know how and perfect understanding of financial contexts
  • Good communicator (written, presentations, interpersonal exchange)
  • Self-driven, open and positive mind-set ideally with experience in international and cross-cultural business environment
  • Pay attention to detail and deliver results in time and in budget
  • Excellent English is a must, German skills are a plus
  • Willingness to travel
