
Business Development Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for Thin Film Automotive Coating solutions like PACVD DLC and PVD coating solutions
- Own the full sales cycle: from lead generation and customer engagement through technical discussions, commercial negotiation, and contract closure.
- Build and manage strong relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and end users across target industries.
- Use CRM Salesforce tools to manage pipeline, forecast sales, and maintain accurate records of customer interactions and deal progress.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Engage with technical and procurement stakeholders to understand application requirements and propose appropriate coating solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical/commercial proposals and presentations.
- Stay abreast of market trends, technology developments, and competitor activity.
- Support technical discussions during the customer acquisition and qualification stages, working with internal engineering and operations teams.
- Coordinate technical trials, sample qualifications, and PPAP with internal and customer teams.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure smooth order execution, timely and quality service delivery delivery.
- Support issue resolution and ensure customer satisfaction post-delivery.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in technical sales or business development in Automotive Market, Knowledge of surface engineering, industrial coatings or application in Automotive will be added advantage
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop strategic customer accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently or in a team.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.
- Exposure to standards such as IATF 16949.
