Operations Manager 

 

We are looking for a Operations Manager for our Rock Hill facility. In this role you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and resources related to a multi-million-dollar production operation.  The position requires staff/people management, resources management, compliance and general oversight of the plant.  Must understand, operate, and act in a hands-on capacity to process products through production system using standard processes. Must support sales and interact with customers but act as a driving force to achieve customer satisfaction by working with; understand customer needs, have a close relationship with the top 5-10% of customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Direct Supervisor for all Plant production employees
  • Interact with Customers to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Daily customer relationships, meetings and or tasks to be complete to keep up to schedule
  • Responsible for motivating, coaching, and developing employees
  • Cost controls related to doing business relative to his/her production
  • Works to develop and maintain a team atmosphere.
  • Provide ethical leadership
  • Responsible for bringing ideas for our best practice program to HSE, OOE, ISO, Operations, Quality, etc., 
  • Responsible for management of actions resulting from internal and external audits.
  • Understand, operate, and act in a hands-on capacity to process products through production system using standard processes  
  • Production Scheduling daily/weekly and monthly participate in the development of an effective shift model to meet customer needs; provide input to batch planning, maintenance schedule, etc.
  • Labor Management in deployment of on-call resources and all cross-training activity
  • Supervisory Functions appraisals, cross training and flexibility. Ensure employees are following the Standards as established

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration; Equivalent experience may be a substitute.
  • 2-3 years of experience with managing people and production outcomes according to customer specifications; Previous coating industry experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing/ Production environment with production cycles to deliver products on time
  • Strategic, systematic thinker, problem solver
  • Well organized
  • Proven Record of training employees in safety and production
  • Proficiency working with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Effective verbal /writing skills and strong presentation skills
  • Must be energetic, goal-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy to be effective in this role.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Quality ISO certifications
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, sit, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to lift, stack, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 44 pounds.
  • Ability to read and see details at close range.
