CSC Project Manager - Automotive
The CSC Project Manager-Automotive will focus primarily on new coating applications, coating modifications, process development, customer’s project management, superior technical solutions, and advanced analysis. This position is accountable for leading and managing projects to accomplish technical initiatives aligned with the automotive coating business. The CSC Project Manager converts strategic customer needs into safe, commercially viable, high-quality solutions that meet cost and timing targets.
Your Responsibilities:
- Project management of automotive TF projects according to international automotive standards (IATF16949) and Oerlikon Balzers phase model
- Sampling and Project Mgt.
- Provide AuT TF (Automotive Thin Film) customer samplings for key region Americas; US and Mexico
- Monitoring/planning sampling & realization projects
- Development of application-specific solutions
- Verification of sampling coatings
- Analyze customer sampling validation
- Monitoring of project progress, costs and deadlines according to internal guidelines
- Fulfillment of customer specifications by adapting the coating processes (PVD and PECVD), in cooperation with local and global CSC (Customer Solution Center) teams.
- Responsible for the complete documentation according to internal specifications (phase model) including support for the production documents.
- Analysis of the full value chain of our production flow and monitoring of critical areas within the assisted automotive projects.
- Analysis and evaluation of internal and external test results as well as their product reliability.
- Managing customer projects according to phase model TF Automotive (internal project management system)
- Additional tasks:
- Industrialization of nominated opportunities in cooperation with production technology team and global CSC organization
Your Profile:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required, Master of Science in Engineering is preferred.
- Technical and natural science studies in physics, materials, process, surface, or chemical engineering
- Knowledge in vacuum, plasma technology, coating technology PVD, PECVD, Arc technology is preferred.
- Tribology and/or Materials Sciences
- Experience in coating technology in thin film area desired
- Experience in working directly with automotive customers (OEM’s, Tier 1, and Tier 2)
- Advanced Project Management Knowledge
- Team-minded, communicative, service-oriented, and resilient personality
- Business fluent in English. Spanish would be an asset.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc..
- Knowledge of SAP ERP System, and general understanding of CRM systems is a real asset.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 30%)
