We are looking for a Process Engineer for our Querétaro facility. The Process Engineer is a key position with the primary focus of driving continuous improvement for all Services based business in the local coating center/s.
This role is responsible for process oversight and standardization to achieve business targets with focus on fulfilling the requirements of both customers and Oerlikon standards. Process Engineer will help in identifying, implementing, and sustaining process improvements within the organization. Primary focus will be on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing overall operational performance. The following objectives are the focus for this role:
- Drive continuous improvement activities using LEAN methodology and Quality tools to identify and reduce waste with the aim of increasing profitability.
- Liaison between CSC (Customer solution Center) and PTT (Production Technology Team) to implement new product and processes for seamless integration in Operations.
- Support Center Operation complexity in process control and reduction in associated costs.
- Develop a continuous improvement culture through training and strategy deployment at the production level.
This role is responsible for working closely with the Quality, PTT, Training and CSC teams to release and support processes via the internal Quality Management System (QMS). Once released, this role is responsible for supporting all relevant Operations personnel including local Management to drive improvement within the center/s.

Your Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement activities with the goal of increasing profitability, improving efficiency, eliminating waste, building process knowledge, and developing a sustainable culture.
- Establish and implement Oerlikon Continuous Improvement methodology demonstrated through use of LEAN and other Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Conduct through analysis of existing processes to identify areas of improvement.
- Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies
- Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes of issues and track improvements.
- Work closely with teams to drive and manage change initiatives.
- Develop training programs and materials to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
- Lead and execute improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
- Define & maintain data collection systems for key processes to predict process failures and highlight areas of improvement to improve process cost, lead times, and equipment downtime. (process protocols control and or trending’s, CONQ trending, others)
- Standardize, & maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) & Work Instructions (WI) for all processes within the facility.
- Develop new standardized process offerings when required by the business. (new equipment, new coating products, specialized customer requirements)
- Ensure all new equipment is installed, commissioned, & released to operations in line with internal SOP’s along with CSC and service team.
- Provide technical process/manufacturing input for quoting supporting expansion and PTT.
- Work side to side with CSC team in order to support and standardize all processes/machines.
Your Profile:
- Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering. Preferred fields of Engineering include Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, System Design, or Materials. In absence of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree and 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Certified Six Sigma and Lean professional.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Ability to effectively use problem-solving tools such as Pareto Charts, SPC methodologies, cause and effect diagrams as well as 8D or similar problem solving experience.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and recognize/quantify trends.
- Ability to generate and clearly present technical data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Thorough experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to work independently with minimum guidance.
- Ability to take direction from others.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to train others.
- Self-motivated.
- Organized with a high attention to detail.
- Pivots easily from failure.
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD.
