We are looking for a Strategic Assistant for Oerlikon’s Executive Chairman at our Headquarters in Pfäffikon SZ.

As part of Oerlikon’s Executive Chairman’s Office you will work very closely with the Executive Chairman to support strategic, operational and ad-hoc initiatives from planning to execution, plus take care of the preparation and follow-up of executive committee and board meetings. In addition, you will also drive organizational wide business and technical projects independently and work closely with Oerlikon’s Head of Group Strategy, the Executive Committee and senior leaders of our business units.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage projects as well as related work streams for the Board of Directors, the Oerlikon Group and for specific business units, monitoring the progress of projects and following up with stakeholders and project team members to ensure successful completion
• Work closely with Oerlikon’s business stakeholders globally to support shaping Oerlikon’s business strategy and enable operational success to move the business forward
• Design and use effective monitoring methods and project management tools to track performance, identify bottlenecks and report progress to project bodies such as SteerCo’s or project controlling
• Help ensure quality, budget and on time delivery of project work
• Conduct information collection, research and data analyses for projects and as basis for decision-making
• Serve as liaison between staff, senior executives and the Chairman to support and facilitate key discussions and appropriate information flow
• Prepare Board and Executive Committee presentations and act as a sparring partner for senior leadership ahead of important meetings

Your Profile

• Degree in technology, engineering or business and max. 4 years work experience in an international company
• Exposure to and understanding of project management methodologies, processes and tools
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with an and entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys managing and driving own agenda and projects
• A hands-on, positive, pragmatic, flexible and results-driven personality with a high level of energy as well as the ability to meet multiple and tight timelines
• Ability to motivate and engage people to contribute to teamwork
• Interest in surface technology/advanced materials and technological innovations such as lights-out manufacturing
• Exceptional German and English language skills both verbal and written
• Ability to travel (approx. 10%)
