Internal Sales Engineer 
 

 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at our Milton Keynes facility as an Internal Sales Engineer. As an Internal Sales Engineer you will be responsible for the pre-production processes by ensuring that requests for quotation are translated into production and providing an outstanding level of service to our customers,

Your Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring that agreed customer promises for delivery dates for projects and trials are met and communicating any issues or conflicts with production schedule, preventative maintenance or breakdown immediately to relevant individuals.
  2. Supporting quality and order processing departments to ensure that customer requirements are met and adhered to and that any quality deviations are communicated and subject of rigorous root cause analysis with the implementation of avoidance measures and corrective actions.
  3. Assisting & supporting the Operations manager with the implementation of new production practices and techniques.
  4. The development of fixturing and tooling ideas, utilising engineering skills to either manufacture or design prototype / low volume fixtures relating to projects and customers’ requirements.
  5. Communicating with internal sales, customer services, quality, other business lines & customers, during the initial stages of pre-production, to create valid production processing plans & processes for the successful coating of customer product.
  6. Co-Ordinating with Quality to Ensure that customers specifications are clear, accurate and achievable, that they are available at the point of use.
  7. Manage sub-contractor quotation tracker to ensure best price and lead time is achieved on all bespoke tooling orders in line with company quotations policy.
  8. Support customer services and Internal Sales with any quotations or technical requirements, ensuring any required caveats are included on quotations.
  9. Ensure all orders in process have prices assigned to them ready for invoicing.
  10. Raise sub-contract orders for processing of orders in other Oerlikon facilities.

 

Your Profile

Essential skills

  • You will have worked in a technical environment from a highly regulated industry: Aerospace (preferable), Automotive, Marine, Defense.
  • You should be able to understand engineering and production terminology.
  • You will have had exposure to roles in Customer Service, where support and interaction was provided to customers to deliver products and services.
  • Strong IT skills– ERP systems and Microsoft and be able to deliver regular reports.

    Desirable skills

     

  • It would be beneficial if you have commercial experience with the ability to understand and work to contract requirements.
  • Ideally, you will have Export Trade Control experience.
  • Niche/bespoke mechanical engineering and manufacturing/business experience.
  • Ideally, some experience of applications and exposure to a coating services background
