Quality Engineer
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our Huntersville, NC facility. The quality engineer will be responsible for reviewing product requirements, developing and executing inspection plans, and verifying conformance of manufactured goods to industry standards and contractual requirements. The quality engineer facilitates and contributes to problem solving reports and continuously improves manufacturing of products.
Your Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings and CAD files for quality requirements (including GD&T)
- Prepare quality planning instructions / bubble drawings
- Interpret customer specifications
- Assist to operate/program inspection equipment (CMM / GOM)
- Prepare technical data packages
- Communicate quality related topics with customers
- Reviews customer request for quotes and prepares estimates
- Provides technical contract review
- Facilitate process / product risk assessment integration
- Supports internal and external audits
- Document non-conformances
- Perform root cause / corrective action analysis
- Daily collaboration with Commercial, Engineering, and Operations to maximize first time right, reduce cost of non-quality, and deliver customer satisfaction.
Your Profile:
- Minimum 4-year degree in Quality, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience (or 8+ years in lieu of a 4-year degree) in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing and/or production environment implementing and executing quality standards such as AS9100, ISO9001: 2015, AS13100, IATF 16949.
- Ability to effectively use problem-solving tools such as Pareto Charts, SPC methodologies, cause and effect diagrams and 8D or similar problem-solving experience.
- Action oriented individual who drives for results in managing the Quality Management System.
- Professional certification (ASQ or similar) in relevant quality disciplines preferred.
- Professional certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Hands on metrology experience (CMM, blue-light, optical, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in LEAN strategies to support and drive continuous improvement preferred.
- Experience in Additive Manufacturing preferred, but not required.
