ICT Operations Specialist - Endpoint & Apps
We are looking for a ICT Operations Specialist - Endpoint & Apps for our Huntersville, NC facility.
The Endpoint & Apps Team is part of the global Digital Workplace services team, focusing on any kind of end user computing technologies and the related unified endpoint management solutions, no matter if these are running on premises or in the cloud, the area includes any kind of supporting services. The job holder will play a key role in operating, maintaining and optimizing the Endpoint & Apps services built on the M365 foundation according to defined service level agreements and ensures that the services meet Oerlikons’s business requirements at an appropriate cost level. The role focuses on ensuring smooth operation, performance, and security of endpoints and business critical applications to support Oerlikon’s global business operations. The job holder collaborates with other IT teams, business units, and external vendors to deliver reliable and efficient endpoint and application services while adhering to organizational standards and compliance requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain and troubleshoot endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune and supporting technologies. This includes desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of endpoint services and applications
- Create software packages for unattended installations and keep them up to date.
- Deploy, configure and troubleshoot applications across various platforms, ensuring compatibility, performance and seamless integration with Microsoft 365
- Implement and enforce endpoint security policies and compliance measures, including antivirus, encryption, and access controls to protect organizational data.
- Manage software updates, patches, and deployments to maintain application performance and security.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in endpoints and applications.
- Provide technical support for endpoint-related incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution
- Conduct training to 1st level colleagues as well as to end-users, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate in projects and act as a quality gate
- Maintain accurate documentation of endpoint configurations, services, and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve IT operations
- Ensure high availability and performance of endpoints and applications in line with SLAs.
- Deliver timely resolution of endpoint and application-related incidents.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide comprehensive documentation for endpoint and application operations.
- Deliver consistent and reliable endpoint and application services to support business operations.
- Develop and refine operational procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate and train 1st level and end users on new solutions/changes.
- Contribute to the organization's overall IT strategy by providing insights on endpoint and application trends.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on endpoint and application management.
- Provide technical guidance to other team members and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of endpoint and application processes.
- In compliance with U.S. Government technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and CMMC you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Your Profile:
- Education BSc/MSc in Computer Science or a similar qualification or proven professional knowledge through professional career.
- At least 3 years working experience in IT operations, endpoint management and application support.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
- Familiarity with enterprise application deployment and management.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
- Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator or similar are a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Intune for device management and application deployment.
- Proficient in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting endpoint devices and applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex endpoint and application issues.
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Android operating systems.
- Knowledge of application packaging and distribution techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline operations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and integration.
- Understanding of network protocols, security standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of endpoint analytics and monitoring tools.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
