We are looking for a Cost Estimator for our Huntersville, NC facility. The Estimator at Oerlikon Metco Huntersville is responsible for generating sales quotes, facilitating a smooth transfer of information between customers and Oerlikon, and supporting sales, finance, and operations as needed. The Estimator’s activities will support the values, vision, mission, goals, and strategies of the company. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints and customer requirements to prepare labor, machine, and material estimates
• Communicates effectively with customers on technical items
• Communicates effectively with sales, engineering, operations, outside services, and finance
• Ensure customer requirements are met via customer specifications and drawings
• Ensures that proper technical documentation and purchase order instruction are received from the customer at time of order and documented in the Job Quotation Worksheet (JQW)
• Ensure that customer requirements are documented in the JQW
• Issue quotations for job specific outside services as needed for machining, grinding, raw material, fixturing, hardware, transportation, etc
• Create pricing using Oerlikon Metco Jet Tool and/or Thermal Spray Quoting Worksheet
• Issue quotations to the customers
•  Follows up on all outstanding quotations to successfully close the sale
• Keeps track of project timelines to guarantee on-time delivery of finished goods
• Estimates repetitive and “similar” quote requests as outlined
• Order entry and customer assistance on all products as required
• Provides data and sales forecasts to management as requested
• Participate in daily production / planning meetings
• Generates purchase orders and reconcile material receipts as needed
• Coordinates shipping / receiving of vendor orders (Raw Materials / Consumables)
• Coordinates shipping / receiving of customer orders
• Complete Certificate of Compliance (COC) for all completed jobs as needed
• Maintain Sharepoint record retention for all completed jobs and vendor requirements
• Assists with inventory management as needed
• Assists in general office management tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Your Profile:

• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
• 4 year Engineering Degree or equivalent trade knowledge desired, preferably in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering 
• Strong mathematics foundation required
• Work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum education requirements
• Costing and estimating experience
• Machining experience preferred
• Experience in MS Office applications
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
