Program Manager

Program Manager 
 

 

The Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and monitoring assigned activities related to customer programs and internal projects.  This role helps ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, and works across all departments to help execute programs and resolve conflicts. 

 

Customer Programs

  • Coordinate and execute customer programs.
  • Create, maintain and execute program and project plans.
  • Conduct program reviews to report on project performance, deliverables, schedules, risks, and financial performance.
  • Communicate actively with various stakeholders within a customer organization to manage expectations and deliverables
  • Work closely with various internal functions to track the development and industrialization of application/part numbers to customer and internal specifications
  • Proactively advise management when product or service does not meet contractual requirements or company strategic goals.
  • Play a coordinating role to troubleshoot production or other related issues as and when they arise
  • Budget/ financial project responsibility with support from supervisor/senior manager

 

Co-ordinate proposal response for large customer projects

  • Support the Commercial Team in business capture and execution of new programs
  • Support quoting and proposal activities and contract reviews.
  • Direct and coordinate activities across internal functional organizations including business development, cost estimating, R&D, engineering, supply chain, production, contracts, finance, and quality to ensure on-time delivery of customer deliverables in accordance with company policies, project requirements and applicable RFQ/RFP contract documents.
  • Develop project closeout / lessons learned database to capture project performance for reference on future projects. Include cost estimates, actuals and basis of estimate records for use on future proposals.

 

Program Management

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and tools for effective project management.
  • Maintain performance metrics on all key projects for internal reporting

  • Commercial team (Business Development, Sales Engineers and Customer Service)
  • Operations team (Engineering, Production planning, Production, Quality and Procurement)
  • Customer stakeholders
  • Finance

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Which skills and competencies are required for this role? This may include education, technical skills, training, experiences etc. as well as behavioural competencies.

Education/Skills/Experiences:

  • 5+ years of project/program management or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or closely related discipline
  • IT skills: use of MS project; Excel, Project, Visio
  • Experience of reading and interpreting specifications, statements of work, term & conditions and contracts
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment
  • Strategic mind set and outcome oriented
  • Self-driven, open and positive mind set
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to visit for customer support, project meetings, conferences and exhibitions (approx. 10%)
  • Must be a US citizen and be willing to apply for US security clearance with the support of the company

Further skills:

  • IT skills – SAP knowledge preferred
  • Commercial experience (sales and Business Development)
  • Understanding of financial modelling would be a plus
  • Existing Classified or above US Security Clearance would be highly preferred
