Grinder/Machinist 
 

 

We are looking for a Grinder - Machinist for Huntersville, North Carolina facility. In this role you will be responsible for the grinding and/or machining of coated and non-coated customer components across the prep, post-coating, and finish manufacturing steps.

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Extensive reading and understanding of blueprints.
  • Holding dimensional tolerances on prints via grinding and/or machining.
  • Understanding of CNC machining and grinding of Laser Clad, HVOF, and Plasma Coatings.
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC grinding equipment (ID and OD).
  • Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment.
  • Mount and indicate parts to less than 0.001” TIR.
  • Removing and Preparation of Laser/HVOF/Plasma Coating areas.
  • Use inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances such as CMM, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Operation and reading of surface roughness tester.
  • Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain work environment with the use of 5S and Lean principles.
  • Daily cleaning and organization of work area(s).
  • Work efficiently and effectively on a consistent basis.
  • Follow and perform to standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Clearly communicate with management, internal customers, and co-workers.
  • Maintain professional level of organization with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Participate with all departments within facility to achieve goals.

Your Profile:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Preferred 3 years’ experience with CNC or conventional machining equipment.
  • Preferred: 3 years’ experience with CNC or conventional grinding equipment.
  • In compliance with U.S. Government technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. 
  • Preferred: 3 years’ experience operating of micrometers, indicators, calipers, and other inspection tools.
  • Preferred: 3 years’ experience in reading blueprints.
