Head of Finance Oerlikon Metco (Canada) Inc.
Oerlikon Metco (Canada) Inc. is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead all financial operations for our Fort Saskatchewan, AB manufacturing entity. This role is responsible for financial reporting, manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and business partnership with Operations and Group Finance. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Finance, you will oversee the full financial management of the Canadian operation, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and strong compliance with corporate and statutory requirements. You will partner closely with plant leadership and global finance teams to support business growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
Key areas of focus include:
- Leading financial reporting, monthly close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and group consolidation reporting.
- Managing manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, and profitability analysis.
- Driving compliance, internal controls, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
You are an accomplished finance leader with extensive experience in manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of financial planning, reporting, and operational finance. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline; CPA/CA designation preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive finance experience within manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in SAP FI/CO, standard costing, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and IFRS.
- Occasional international travel may be required. Candidate must possess or be able to obtain the necessary travel documentation, including a valid passport.
