Internship Application Lab - Materials Engineering (gn) for 6 months

Internship Application Lab - Materials Engineering (gn) for 6 months 
 

 

For the location in Balzers/Liechtenstein we are looking for an intern (neutral gender) for 6 months, fulltime to start upon agreement. In this role, you will conduct dedicated wear test methods to address the various applications of customers.

 

 

 

Your tasks

 

  • You will compile the customer's applications into a suitable lab-scale wear test method
  • You will do CAD construction of adapters for mounting the customer's components on wear test rigs
  • You will execute 3D plastic printing and implementation of 3D printing of metal parts
  • You will operate metrology tools for the characterization of coatings
  • You will conduct benchmark wear tests and do the results analysis of all Oerlikon coatings solutions (PVD, Thermal Spray,…)
  • You will follow standard testing procedures and interpreting customer specifications
  • You will support R&D project managers in their daily work

 

Your profile

 

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering (current enrollment is required – only students)
  • Individual must have strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, and creative
  • Good 3D-CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks)
  • Hands on mentality
  • English knowledge, German is a plus
