Oerlikon is seeking a Semiconductor Technician Specialist in our Amherst, New York facility. The successful candidate must be able to work a compressed Shift Schedule (10-hour shifts, including weekends that with 4 days on and 3 days off ,non-rotation ). We have two shifts available: 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. You will be in in a controlled cleanroom environment, which will involve the wearing of a full gown and relevant personal protective equipment. This Semiconductor Technician Specialist will be responsible for the set up and monitoring of the Coating Machines. The main responsibility is to prepare the coating system, load,
unload the chamber with extreme care and attention to detail. This Individual will pre-treat a variety of customer products using rigorous standardized methods to prepare products for coating. This role requires the following skills: analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and a high-degree of creativity to oversee and assemble chamber loads based on customer specifications. Strong fixturing and defixturing techniques are required. As part of his/her regular responsibilities, this person will make critical processing decisions, to initiate the coating process as well as be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.

Your Responsibilities
• Experience with semiconductor equipment, vacuum deposition, thin films, etc.
• Problem solver with production operations schedule; takes initative with the production schedule and tasks in order to keep the production flow running. Optimize the daily use of production equipment.
• Precise work instructions must be followed; handling the customers product meticulously, as the product is highly technical and expensive
• Must be comfortable wearing a full clean room attire and PPE.
• Be able to run automated equipment with accuracy and strictness to the process.
• Mechanically inclined; Be able to mechanically take it apart. Parts have to be put together pricesly. If not completed to the exact specification, the item will need to be reworked.
• Monitor progress and problem solve through-out the production process.

• Individual must have a strong work ethic, someone who cares about our customers products that are very expensive.
• Strong passion and desire to succeed and learn.
• Work with Quality Coordinator and Center Manager to identify and address quality concerns
• Providing training and assistance to other employees on equipment operation and maintenance. Learn new skills and Cross-train into various departments
• Performing other duties as required to assure customer satisfaction
Your Profile
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Prefers an Associate Degree (Military or Trade School with an emphasis in electronics/mechanical equivalent may substitute for AS degree) or 2+ years of experience in the following technical fields, mechanical, electrical or refrigeration.
• Experience in the Semiconductor industry is preferred.
• Required to lift 44 pounds with extreme care. Must be a fast learner; be able to handle delicate equipment with care and precision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with other team-members on the process.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime when required.
Computer skills, be able to utilize MS Office on the job.
