Inventory Control Specialist- Temporary 


We are looking for a TEMP Inventory Control Specialist for our Amherst, NY facility. In this role you will handle incoming and receiving, order processing, packing and shipment, and inventory control of the main Oerlikon Balzers spare parts supply. 


Your Responsibilities:


  • Handle spare part Transfer requisitions from Oerlikon Balzers service locations daily 
  • Process customer spare part orders daily.  This includes providing accurate spare parts quotations and processing customer purchase orders
  • Pick all customers orders from inventory stock room.
  • Perform the packaging, shipping and logistics of all spare part orders according to established procedures
  • Determine and process the most efficient shipping logistics for each spare part order according to the customer’s request.
  • Receive spare part orders into stock within 24 hours of its physical receipt.
  • Organize spare part stock in a method that promotes an efficient layout for cataloguing and storing of the parts in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall value of the spare parts by minimizing stock losses due to breakage, spoilage, and lost parts.
  • Takes part in Physical Inventory Counts as directed.
  • Follow established work instructions for each process.
  • Maintain proper documentation as required for each order.
  • Occasional emergency spare part disposition work after hours.
  • Handle technical questions regarding spare parts for customers.
  • Assist with training of spare part processes Oerlikon Balzers employees
  • Performs importation and exportation of spare parts and equipment for Oerlikon Balzers USA.
  • Assist with the proper spare part stock levels by following established spare part reordering rules.
  • Assists with repair and warranty of parts following established processes.
  • Processes After Sales (fixtures, upgrades, accessories) orders according to established processes.


Your Profile:


  • HS Diploma or equivalent



  • Prior spare parts management experience
  • Vacuum technology experience is a plus



  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Navision and SAP business software
  • Schematic and blueprint reading
  • Working knowledge of computers and electronics
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft Word and Excel software
  • Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a forklift is necessary
  • Has the ability to lift up to 40 lbs
