Product Manager Precision Components 
 

 

We are looking for a Product Manager- Precision Components for the North East region. In this role you will manage, develop, implement sales and marketing activities to maximize sales of an assigned product within a segment of the Balzers business. This role will also be responsible for identifying potential customers by generating leads garnered through prospecting, current customers, trade shows, etc., The Product Manager is also responsible for developing consultative relationships with customers to understand and deliver on their requirements. As such, this position will be responsible for working within the sales/marketing hierarchy to develop strategies for their assigned product and segment based on research and analysis.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive new opportunities with potential customers as well as penetrate existing industries within the assigned market segment to grow Balzers' products and services.  Key focus; Aerospace and Defense
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities in a timely manner with a focus on servicing the customer's needs while generating profitable and long-term business relationships
  • Manage the designated Balzers CRM tool to forecast monthly sales potential
  • Provide project leadership as necessary to facilitate the acquisition of business and successful delivery customer requirements
  • Drive market segment development and product penetration using analytics and experience
  • Work within existing sales/marketing structure to facilitate segment growth, communication, and customer issue resolution as necessary

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or related discipline required (equivalent experience may substitute). MBA preferred
  • Experience selling industrial services or products to at least three (3) of the following industries: Aerospace, Defense, Energy (Power Generation, Oil & Gas), Medical, Motorsports, Industrial Engineering, Hydrogen Fuel Cell, etc.
  • Experience selling PVD (physical vapor deposition), and/or surface treatments industry is preferred
  • Knowledge and networking within Aerospace and Defense industries is a real asset
  • Strong proficiency developing segment, product, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and sales forecasts
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint is a must
  • Representing Oerikon at Trade Shows
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical requirements (i.e., technical drawings, blueprints, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 40% (regional and some international travel) 
  • US person required; security clearance preferred
